Fr. Sal Gonzalez, OMI – Director
Born in Guadalajara Mexico and raised in Oakland California. His seminary formation took him across borders from Tijuana Mexico to San Antonio Texas to Rome Italy. Ministry to people in prison and ministry to those struggling with addictions are very life giving to him as well as ministering to Spanish speaking communities. His ministry has included parish work, shrine ministry and retreat ministry. Currently he is on staff at Kings House Retreat Center in Belleville IL.
Fr. Mark Dean, OMI
Entered the minor seminary at Carthage, Missouri, and continued on in formation with the Oblates. Mark was ordained a priest within the Oblate congregation in December of 1983. He spent five years in Minnesota as both a parochial vicar and a prison chaplain. Mark then went to join the Oblate mission in Sweden; spending nine years there, he learned to speak Swedish and paint icons. Returning to the States, Mark worked three years at Christ the King Retreat Center in Buffalo, Minnesota; was assigned to formation work seven years in San Antonio, Texas; and was on staff for three years at the Oblate Novitiate in Godfrey, Illinois. Finally, in the fall of 2011, Mark joined the retreat team here at King’s House.
